The 13th motorcycle rally, the main event in the Russian bikers’ world, was held in Crimea this year for the first time. For many years, this show took place in the Kaliningrad oblast in Russia and was supported by the government and hundreds of fans. This year it was decided to devote the event to the 65th anniversary of the liberation of Sevastopol and that it would be organized in Crimea. Seven thousands bikers visited the show. There were bikers from Ukraine, Russia and many other countries. Bikers from Russia brought a Russian flag presented to them by Putin, the Prime Minister of the Russian Federation. The nationalistic theme was dominant at the show and the call of “Unity for all Slavs” was heard frequently, even at the concert of the famous Russian rock singer Konstantin Kinchev.

Andrey Septenok (nick name Gans), the leader of a Russian group, shared his feelings with the “Segodnya”:

We left Moscow on July 7th.  Putin came to the bike center to bid farewell to us. He was wearing a     leather jacket and sunglasses. He wrote a wish on a map and presented a flag to us”. He cheered everyone up. The trip to Sevastopol took us 3 days. We drove through Kursk, Belgorod, Zaporozh’e. We arrived at Gosfort mountain the night of July 10th. We made a stage on the territory of the ore [management?]. I already had a ticket to the concert which I bought at home for 400 rubles (100 hryvnyas). Together with the guys we put up our tents. The concert with Kinchev and his band Alisa, Aria, Korol I Shut, and Vopli Vidoplyasova was awesome. After the concert there was a screening of the war chronicles of the Sevastopol liberation. I am an experienced biker but this was the first time I saw so many people at the show.
